One of my favorite movies of all time is Purple Rain. Prince kills as "The Kid" and showcases all of his bloused talents. I've always admired his look because it’s a perfect blend of masculinity with a feminine touch and it still manages to be sexy, to both sexes. Morris Day did his thing and strutted around in the sharpest, making everyone jump out their seats when he hit the stage at "The Taste." Although neither men’s flare was as great as the leading lady Apollonia. Her lace and leather outfits exuded saucyness and almost made you wish she stayed clothed throughout the entire movie........almost. Lets be honest we all drooled over the cleansing in Lake Minnetonka scene. Stay tuned for Purple Rain Inspired looks from [MO]vintage. Here’s our favorite outfits from the movie:

Just found your page.
Here's a bit of trivia:
After following Prince's instructions, "Well, for starters, you have to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka", Appolonia says, "What?" and Prince replies, "You have to purify yourself in Lake Minnetonka".
Appolonia comes out of the freezing water and Prince says, "That ain't Lake Minnetonka".
It's actually the Minnesota River. Before the scene, you see them riding Prince's motorcycle along the river on the old Bloomington Ferry Road.
You can't drive to the scene anymore because the small 2 lane road and small 1 lane bridge were replace with a 6 lane freeway in 1997.
But you can walk to it. The small road on the south side of the river has been converted to a paved walking and bike trail.
Below is a link to pictures of the road and trail. Scroll down and the the road they road on and where the scene was filmed is the 10th picture and the replace road with the trail is the 11th picture.
